Abstract
PURPOSE: To direct continuously a fixed amount of polluted water into a biological membrane treatment tank by sending a part of treated water from sedimentation tank back to a separating storage tank.
CONSTITUTION: Polluted water is first flowed into the separating storage tank 1 to sediment solids, and also a part of treated water from the sedimentation tank 3 is flowed into the separating storage tank 1 through the circulating path 5 to dilute the polluted water. Then, the polluted water is transferred to the microbe-adhered aerator (or disk water tank) 2 to clarify pollutants with biological membrane, and then sent to the sedimentation tank 3 to separate sludge. Then, a part of clarified water is sent back to the storage tank 1 and the rest is transferred to the sterilizing tank 4 and then discharged. Thus, even if there is no natural inflow of polluted water, a part of polluted water is always circulated and polluted water is diluted, so that the biological membrane can be easily controlled and biological clarification of polluted water can be attained to advantage.
