Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible automatic adjustment of charging condition with a low voltage circuit without using any DC high current source by controlling the positive and negative unbalance quantities of the current flowing in the primary winding of a transformer with a control circuit.
CONSTITUTION: One end of the secondary winding 13 of an output transformer 11 is connected to a corona discharge electrode 16 and the other end to a chargeable rotary photoreceptor 14 via DC component detecting circuit 15. The DC component detected by the DC component detecting circuit 15 provided in the secondary circuit of the output transformer 11 is supplied to one input of a comparator 34. The reference potential having been set by a variable reference power source 36 for setting the positive and negative unbalances of the currents flowing in the primary winding 12 of the transformer 11 is supplied to the other input of the comparator 34 and the output of the comparator 34 is supplied to a signal separating conversion circuit 38, by which it is converted to a signal of suitable form. This signal is supplied to a control circuit 26 via amplifier 40. Thereby, the charging condition may be automatically adjusted with the low voltage circuit.
