Abstract

CONSTITUTION:This is the method comprising providing a separating charger 3 in opposition to a photoreceptor 1, performing corona discharge by this to destaticize transfer paper and separating the same from the photoreceptor 1, wherein when the AC components of the AC corona discharge current fluctuate the fluctuations are detected by an AC component detector 10, the detection signal whereof is converted to DC components by an AC/DC converter 11 and a DC power source 7 is controlled by an arithmetic circuit 12 and control circuit 13 so that said components become the DC components corresponding to the DC components. This enables the separating charger conditions of the separating charger 3 to be set at the optimum point at the AC component, thus enabling stable separation to be accomplished.
