Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance yield and quality by a method wherein a wiping position and the periphery thereof is maintained in an atmosphere of low oxygen concentration of 1-50000ppm and the concentration is stepwisely controlled corresponding to a deposited amount. CONSTITUTION:A strip 2 drawn from a plating bath is preliminarily wiped by a wiping roll 8 and, subsequently, a deposited amount is adjusted to a predetermined amount by N2 gas injected from a pair of a wiping nozzle 4. In this case, a wiping atmosphere is maintained to a low oxygen concentration of 1-50000ppm range by a sealing box 5. Corresponding to a deposited amount, the above described oxygen concentration may be stepwisely controlled by inner pressure of a sealing box, N2 gas flow amount and/or pressure adjustment. As a result, oxidation of molten metal is controlled, dross generation is reduced, yield and quality are enhanced as well as strip passing property can be enhanced.
