Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the even strip-form alloy sheet of less surface metal oxides by spouting the molten alloy of high temperature from a nozzle to around a revolving cylinder and at the same time blowing one or more kinds of fluid parallel to the molten metal fluid to the foregoing cylinder on the outside circumference of this nozzle. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle 4 in the lower part of a quartz crucible 2 containing molten alloy 3 in the inside in disposed in such a manner that the molten metal adjoins the position moved by about 15 deg. from right above a revolving cylinder 1 in its revolving direction, and the fluid pipings 6 and 7 made of stainless steel are disposed around the crucible 2. A suitable amount of inert gas such as helium or neon is flowed from the inner conduit 6 to the revolving cylinder 1 in parallel to the molten metal being injected and around the same. The conduit 7 is let to spout the fluid of room temperature or less such as liquid nitrogen or liquid air to the outer side of the above-mentioned inert gas. Thus, as compared to the alloy strip made by ordinary methods, the amount of surface metal oxides may be controlled to about 1/10 or less and a homogeneous strip-form alloy sheet 5 is obtained.
