Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a chamber-type coke oven excellent in coke production capability and thermal conductivity, by providing a vertical wall to partition combustion chambers in parallel with coal chambers and place the combustion chambers or flame passages on the both sides of each coal chamber.
CONSTITUTION: A vertical wall 5 is provided in the center of combustion chambers to partition them in parallel with coal chambers 1. Twin flame passages are defined by the combustion chambers 11, 12 surrounded by partition walls 3, the vertical wall 5 and coal chamber walls 2. Two rich gas fuel pipes are provided in each vertical wall part, on the both sides of which two combustion chambers or flame passages 11, 12 are located. The rich gas fuel pipes extend through a regenerator section. The upper ends of the fuel pipes are opened at 7, 8 near the bottoms of the combustion chambers or flame passages 11, 12. A duct 17 partitioned by a partition wall 15 is provided in each combustion chamber. The partition wall 15 is provided with openings 16 which are located at a prescribed vertical spacing and extend to the combustion chamber so that preheated air rising in the duct 17 is blown into the combustion chamber.
