Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a slide element with especially improved heat resistance as well as excellent oil resistance, Freon resistance, wear resistance or the like by a method wherein polyimide resin is filled within void portions of a spongy porous metal body and molded by heating.
CONSTITUTION: Within void portions of a spongy porous metal body of which porosity is 88W98% and pore diameter is 100μW5mm, a composition based on polyimide resin is filled and heat molding is carried out. A spongy porous metal body to be used is constituted from Ni, Ni-Cr, Ni-Cr-Al, Ni-Cr-Fe, Cu, Cu-Ni, Fe, Fe-Cr or the like. When not more than 30wt% of fluorine resin powder, molybdenum disulfide powder, or graphite powder are compounded in the above-described polyimide resin, friction coefficient is improved and, especially in case of the latter two, friction property is also improved. Moreover, when quartz powder is compounded, mechanical strength is improved and, when carbon staple fiber is compounded, tensile strength is improved.
