Abstract

PURPOSE: A sliding material having improved load resistance and wear resistance, not wearing the opposite face on which it slides, capable of reducing a production cost, obtained by adding crystalline silica or a mixture of it and aluminum oxide to a fluorine-contained resin as a main component.
CONSTITUTION: A fluorine-contained resin as a main component is blended with 1W15wt% crystalline silica or mixture of it and alumnium oxide. If necessary, 1W50wt% zinc or lead and 1W5wt% molybdenum sulfide or graphite is added to the blend. Tetrafluoroethylene resin is preferable as the fluorine-contained resin. This sliding material is laminated on a backing metal or impregnated into a porous layer which is formed by sintering metal powder on the backing metal.
