Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the friction performance of Cu-base sintered bearing by pressure-molding the compounded powder which uses copper-coated graphite powder as its main material, to the specified density, sintering the same in a reducing gas atmosphere and sizing the same.
CONSTITUTION: The copper coated graphite powder of graphite contents 10W80 wt% having been applied with copper plating on the surfaces of graphite powder of 60W350 mesh is used as the main material, to which one or more kinds of required amounts of copper powder, tin powder, lead powder, MoS2 powder, zinc stearate powder or alloy powder belonging to these and solid lubricants are compounded. This mixture is cold-pressure-molded in such a manner that the relative density of the sintered body becomes 50% or more and the molding is sintered at 750W790°C in a reducing gas atmosphere, thence it is sized, whereby the Cu-base sintered bearing of graphite contents 10W50% is obtained. This bearing is superior in friction performances, such as load resistance, heat resistance and lubricity. In addition, volume production is feasible.
