Abstract

PURPOSE: To let fall a gate body stepwise by a method wherein the gate body is connected with a number of water vessels by a rope and water is poured into the vessels.
CONSTITUTION: A buoyancy chamber 1 at the top of a dike body 2 is charged with water through a water conduit 3. A hollow gate body 4 having buoyancy is rotatably fitted at the top end of the chamber 1, and one end of a rope 6 is connected to the bottom face of the gate body 4. At the other end of the rope 6, water vessels 15W17 are hung through pulleys 9W14. Water pipes 27W29 are arranged according to water levels on the upstream side of a reservoir, with the downstream-side water discharge ports of the pipes directed toward the water inlet ports of the vessels 15W17.
