Abstract

PURPOSE: To discharge sludge uniformly and efficiently through a mechanism wherein a suction port of the lower end of a sludge drawing pipe comminucated with the interior of a sludge pit is positioned at a bottom portion of a sludge sump and a float is fixed at an upper end of a drawing pipe extending within a pit which functions as an expansion pipe.
CONSTITUTION: When the sludge in a sludge pit 6 is drawn through a sludge discharging pipe 13 by operating a pump 14 to lower the water level of the sludge in the sludge pit and descend a float 9, a extensible pipe 8 is retracted and the water level differnce h is generated between the upper end of a discharging port 15 and the surface of sewage in a precipitation pond 1. By this water level difference, the sludge of the sludge sump 5 is parred through a drawing pipe 7 from a sludge port 10 and overflowed into a pit 6 from a discharging port 15. When the opening degree of a flow control valve 11 attached on the drawing pipe is adjusted to balance the introduced quantity of the sludge flowed into the pit 6 and the discharged quantity drawn by the pump 14, the sludge of the sludge sump 5 is continuously discharged.
