Abstract

PURPOSE: To arrange so that the entrainment and diffusion of micro floating soil may be minimized and the flowdown velocity of sand through a tremmy tube at time of soil spraying.
CONSTITUTION: A tremmy tube 13 is suspended tilted at the edge of a ship 10 and is so arranged that it may gyrate in a tilted direction and a direction level with the ship 10. At the same time, a spraying cylinder 19 is installed at the lower end of the tremmy tube 13. A plural number of suction ports 22 for dirty water are opened on the periphery of a lower end opening in the spraying cylinder 19. A dirty water circulation channel 23 is connected to the suction port 22 with a pump 24 provided. The opening of a valve 27 is adjusted in accordance with the inclination of the afore-mentioned tremmy tube 13 and the specific gravity and volume of sand. Simultaneously the discharge of water from a nozzle 26 is adjusted through the intermediary of a branched pipe 25 so that the descending velocity of sand through the tremmy tube 13 may be controlled. In parallel with this procedure, the tremmy tube 13 is swung horizontally to move the ship 10 thus spraying sand.
