Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to discharge fibers which tend to remain at the center of an impeller to an outlet side by providing a clearance sufficiently larger than the height of blade for an open-type impeller and by installing a suction nozzle to the center of impeller shaft in a nonsymmetrical manner.
CONSTITUTION: A suction nozzle 9 openend in a pump chamber 8 is laid out in a nonsymmetrical manner to the center of shaft l1 of an impeller 1. As the suction nozzle 9 is eccentrically installed, a fluid near the suction nozzle 9 which is under low pressure moves in the direction which the suction nozzle is eccentric to and a water flow W which flows from a higher pressure side to a lower pressure side in the pump chamber 8 is generated at the center 12 of the impeller 1. Therefore, the sewage which flows into the pump chamber 8 is introduced by a muddy stream v and a water stream w and discharged from an outlet nozzle 5.
