Abstract

PURPOSE: To minimize the pressure loss of refrigerant gas in usual cooling operation since a throttle means for adjusting suction pressure is provided only in hot gas bypass defreezing operation.
CONSTITUTION: When frost has attached to an evaporator 4, a frost sensing means makes a solenoid valve 5 open. Then, high-pressure, high-temperature discharge gas flows into a bypass circuit 7 and melts off the frost on the surface of said evaporator 4. In the meanwhile, a portion of the discharge gas in said circuit 7 flows into the section chamber 19 of a throttle means 15 through a uniform pressure pipe 24 and presses a piston 18 rightward as illustrated by the top of said piston 18. Then, the small passage 17 passing throuhg the side wall of said piston 18 makes continuity to an outflow port 26 side, and the defrosted refrigerant gas having flown into the outflow port 27 of said throttle means 15 flows out onto outflow port 26 while throttled. Thus, overload can be prevented in defrosting operation.
