Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep refrigerant flow at a required value by providing a float and a needle valve in an accumulator, connecting the inlet of said needle valve to the outlet of a condenser and said outlet to the inlet of an evaporator, and providing a flow course change-over valve between said compressor and condenser.
CONSTITUTION: A float 8, a needle valve 5 a U-pipe 9 are provided in an accumulator 4 so that said float 8 may move up and down in accordance with the quantity of the liquid in said accumulator 4 to open and close said needle velve 5. The liquid refrigerant present at the outlet of a condenser 2 flows to the inflow chamber 15 of an expansion valve 5, to the inlet of an evaporator 3 through an orifice 16, an outflow chamber 17 and a pipe 18, and further to said accumulator 4, and gas component to a compressor 1 through said U-pipe 9. Thus, said float 8 moves up and down in accordance with the liquid level in said accumulator 4 to open and close said expansion valve 5 for adjusting the flow of said refrigerant from said condenser 2 to said evaporator 3. Therefore, the refrigerant flow obtained upon defrosting is maintained, and overheating degree is kept at O during freezing operation.
