Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate overheat at the outlet port of an evaporator and miniaturize the evaporator, by providing in an accumulator a float which acts as an expander and a needle valve which is operated by the float.
CONSTITUTION: The quantity of coolant introduced into the evaporator is controlled by an expansion valve 7 so that the float is located between an upper and a lower stops 21. Liquid coolant in the accumulator 4 flows out by a constant quantity to a compressor through an oil return hole 20 opened through the lower part of a U-pipe. Coolant discharged from a condenser is supplied by the expansion valve to the evaporator through pipes 14, 18 to return liquid from the evaporator by a quantity corresponding to that of the outflow to maintain the liquid level. Therefore, overheat at the outlet port of the evaporator is eliminated
