Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a leakage of a shaft sealing liquid into a compressor by providing an orifice to a reference gas line which connects an over head tank to a drain pot.
CONSTITUTION: A piping system is constructed so that a pressure drop of a liquid which flows in a reference line 8c between a drain pot 3 and a shaft sealing liquid discharge line 10a becomes smaller than a head at the highest point of a reference line 8b between the drain pot 3 and a compressor 1. Furthermore, an orifice 13 is provided on the way of the reference line 8a. Thus, by this construction, the piping system of the reference gas line 8c needs not be a big one. On the other hand, though the reference gas line 8a is normally a gas line, since the density of the gas is small, a liquid level control can be performed smoothly by the resistance generated by the orifice 13, hence an abnormal rise of the liquid level inside the over head tank 2 can be prevented leading to the prevention of a shaft sealing liquid leakage into the compressor 1.
