Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the thermal rising of discharged refrigerant gas without lowering the heating capacity for defrosting even under cold open air or other conditions by providing a refrigerant cycle, an intermediate circuit, a defrosting valve device, and the first and the second bypass circuit.
CONSTITUTION: When frosting is advanced in an evaporator 8, a three-way valve 13 is switched over by a defrosting signal to close a liquid line electromagnetic valve 5. Consequently, the discharged refrigerant gas from a high stage side compressor 2 is conducted to the evaporator 8 through the first bypass circuit 41 as a dotted line arrow shows. After defrosting the evaporator 8 by the compression heat, it is separated into gas and liquid and returned to a compressor 1. Meanwhile, the discharged refrigerant gas is partly introduced into a liquid-receiver 4 through the second bypass circuit 50, and forces out the refrigerant liquid in the liquid-receiver 4 for injecting into a suction pipe 26 in the high stage side compressor 2 through an intermediate circuit 30. This construction serves to maintain and stabilize the temperature of the discharged refrigerant gas in the high stage side compressor.
