Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep vapor pressure above a fixed value without affecting a compressor by attaching the connecting end of the passage pipe on a hot gas side passage pipe for adjusting vapor pressure on the upper course side of the mounting position of the temperature sensing portion of a temperature type automatic expansion valve.
CONSTITUTION: A hot gas side passage pipe 9 is branched from the outlet of a compressor 1 and connected between an expansion valve 4 and a distributor 7 on the upper course side of a sensing portion, and a valve 10 provided in said hot gas side passage pipe 9 is opened when vapor pressure has come below a value in an evaporator 6. Thus, a portion of the hot gas discharged from said compressor 1 flows onto low-pressure side so that vapor pressure can be controlled at a fixed value. If that connection is made on the lower course side of said sensing portion 5 on the contrary, the suction temperature of said compressor 1 becomes high and neither cooling nor lubrication of said compressor 1 is performed sufficiently so that seizure occurs. If this connection is made on said upper course side of said sensing portion 5 as described above, said vapor pressure can be controlled at a fixed value without affecting said compressor 1.
