Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable alleviation of abrasion of a latent image forming medium as well as prevention of deterioration in latent image intensity of a negatively friction- chargeable latent image forming medium, by providing a specified resin cover on magnetic particles.
CONSTITUTION: Polyamideimide, urea resin, or polyurethane is dissolved in a proper solvent, and positively chargeable carriers of magnetic particles having 0.1W1.5 μ resin covers are formed by a rotary drying method. When positive development is effected by uniform positively charging corona discharge using a negatively chargeable toner on a negatively friction-chargeable latent image forming medium, such as ZnO type photoconductor, the positively chargeable carrier negatively charges the toner, and the medium is rubbed by a slightly negatively chargeable developer consisting of a mixture of the negatively chargeable toner and the positively chargeable carrier, therefore permitting latent image intensity to be little deteriorated in development.
