Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a reversal image of good quality by applying the voltage wherein nearly the maximum potential of an electrostatic latent image to be developed is superposed with AC of suitable intensity onto an electroconductive sleeve to which a magnetically signal ingredient toner is adsorbed.
CONSTITUTION: Magnetic toner 40 in the developing receptacle 31 of non-magnetic electroconductive body grounded is transported upwardly by rotary magnet belt 32 disposed at the outside of the side wall of the receptacle 31 so that the toner 40 is held on the surface of electroconductive sleeve 36 disposed at the top which rotates in the direction of an arrow. The electroconductive sleeve 36 uses bias electric power V formed from DC power V1 and AC power V2 is series, and the sleeve 36 is applied by the special bias voltage via protecting resistor R. For example, in case the potential of non-image portion of the photoreceptor 35 is +1000V, the voltage which varies between 500W1000V with 200-cycles wherein V1 is DC +750 V and V2 is AC 250 V, 200-cycles is applied to the sleeve 36.
