Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the gas feeding amount and the space for installation by slanting the both end part of a furnace core downward at an acute angle and allowing the gas lighter than air to stagnate at the center part of the upper furnace core and preventing the leakage at both end openings.
CONSTITUTION: An object to be heated which has been worked on a working table 38 is put on a suspending tool and carried in a furnace core 18. Nitrogen gas is supplied from each of the pipes 40a and 41a and stagnates in the vicinity of said both end openings to form a curtain between hydrogen gas and the air. The object to be heated is heated in hydrogen gas environment in the furnace core 18, and oxidation is prevented. The heated material is cooled to the temperature at which oxidation does not occurr even in the contact with air at a cooling part 28, then taken down a suspending tool 36X in the lower frame 24 of the furnace core 18, put on a suspending tool 36Y, and after the carrying in the faurnace core 18 from the inlet opening 20 of the furnace core, on the suspending tool 36Y, said cooled material is heated again.
