Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform energy-saved operation of a continuous annealing furnace comprising a preheating zone, a high-temperature treating zone and a cooling zone, by circulating in-furnace atmosphere gas from the preheating zone to the cooling zone through an atmosphere-circulating duct outside the furnace.
CONSTITUTION: High-temperature atmosphere gas at a high-temperature treating zone 4 flows to a preheating zone 3, and is forcedly circulated by a convection fan 7 attached to a roof at the preheating zone 3, so that temperature distribution at the preheating zone 3 is homogenized and efficiently heat-exchanged with a workpiece W to be treated. The atmosphere gas, which comes at a relatively lower temperature in the preheating zone 3, is fed through a circulating duct 8 into a cooling zone 5 by a fan 9 and forcedly circulated by a convection fan 7 attached to a roof at the cooling zone 5. The gas is heat-exchanged with the workpiece W from the treating zone 4 and uniformly cools the work-piece W. The temperature of the resultant gas is raised, and the gas is returned to the treating zone 4. Change of a heat cycle is done by setting the temperature in the treating zone 4 and controlling the opening rate of a control valve 10.
