Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the deposition of dust and the generation of heat stress among reactor parts by a procedure in which a downwardly inclined rectifying plate is provided to a lower casing of a vertical reactor and a hot gas is supplied into a space formed by the rectifying plate.
CONSTITUTION: The porous rectifying plate 11 downwardly inclined toward a duct 4 is provided to a lower casing of the reactor body 1 and a hot gas from a pipe 13 is supplied into a chamber 12. Waste gas introduced into the body from a duct 3 is denitrified at a catalyst layer 2 and then flowed down to the duct 4, during which, however, the superficial velocity in column in the lower part of the reactor body 1 is not reduced beyond the flow rate of gas inside the ducts 3 and 4, making the deposition of dust impossible. Also, since the temperature inside the chamber 12 is regulated to much the same as that inside the reactor body 1 by means of the hot gas, the generation of heat stress in among the parts of the apparatus can be prevented.
