Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent active carbon powder from accompanying generated (exhaust) gas by a method wherein heat exchanger is installed in the upper space in the container in an indirectly heated agitation type active carbon regenerator.
CONSTITUTION: Active carbon powder 10 is admitted via feeder 2 to regeneration container 1 which is indirectly heated from outside by heater 5. The carbon 10 is heated while being stirred with blades 4 and regenerated carbon 10 is recovered to tank 3. Gas 11 produced in regeneration is discharged from outlet 8 of the container 8. In the upper space in the container 1, spiral heat transmission pipe 2 is installed to cool the upper side wall and top face of the container 1. Preferably, the heat transmission pipe 2 is installed to have inlet 30 at upper side and outlet 31 at lower side so that cooling gas flows in the arrow direction in the pipe 2.
