Abstract

PURPOSE:A perforated plate is located in the heat gas introducing passage in an inclined position to the heat gas flow, the inclined plate having openings through which the heat gas is partially flowed into the gas circulating chamber installed in the opposing position to the gas flow, whereby heat stress produced in the lower supports of the reaction chamber is reduced. CONSTITUTION:High temperature gas flows through the duct 4 into the reactor 1. About 3 to 5% of the high temperature gas passes through the openings 6 of the inclined plate 2, enters into the gas circulating chamber 9, passes through perforations (opening ratio being about 5 to 10%) of the plate 2. Such gas flow adjusts the high temperature gas flow from the duct 4, and the adjusted gas is flowed into the reactive layer 3, then exhausted through the duct 5. The existance of the gas circulating chamber reduces differential thermal expansion between the supports 7, 8 and thermal stresses generated in the supports.
