Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an operation control system, which permits safe and smooth operation of a steam turbine through control of load by monitoring equivalent balance due to thermal benging of the shrinkage fit rotor from excessive vibrations produced due to load peculier to the rotor.
CONSTITUTION: When operating a turbine rotor 1 and a generator rotor 2 coupled to each other by a coupling 3 and supported by bearings 4, both the rotors 1 and 2 are sufficiently balanced at the time of absence of load, and their rpm is increased up to a predetermined rpm. The vibrations of the rotor system up to this time are measured by a vibration detector 5 from the bearings 4, and the rotation synchronization component is memorized in a memory. Then, vibrations at the time the loaded state are detected, and the vibration component is obtained by the load from the detected value and the vibration at the time of absence of load. Then, equivalent balance produced at the time of the loaded state is calculated by a calculator 11 by using a previously memorized sensitivity coefficient, and a steam control valve 13 is controlled through comparison of the measured values and refernce values and consequent determination.
