Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect a rotor from brittle fracture while to plan a safe operation of a turbine by a method wherein not only a surface temperature of the rotor of a turbinerotor but also a number of revolution and a load of the turbine are detected totally.
CONSTITUTION: When a rotor of a steam turbine or the like is revolving, a signal with respect to a surface temperature of the rotor is input from a temperature detector 1 into an operating device 3 to operate an internal temperature distribution, subsequently, a thermal stress of a central portion of the rotor is operated with an operating device 4. On the other hand, a signal from a number of revolution detector 5 is input into an operating device 6 to operate a centrifugal stress of the central portion of the rotor. A stress expanding coefficient and a variating amount thereof are operated by an operating device 2 from these thermal and centrifugal stresses as well as a predetermined crack size while a fracture thoughness value is operated by an operating device 8 from the rotor temperature. Then, signals from these operating divices 2, 8 are input into a comparator 9 and an operational control decision device 11 is controlled in accordance with the output thereof to determine a safe operational controlling method.
