Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture a stainless steel sheet excellent in weatherability at uncoated surface as well as in workability, by forming a coating layer of Al, etc., on one side of a stainless steel sheet for sheathing to a specific thickness. CONSTITUTION:At least one coating layer consisting of one or more kinds selected from Al, Al alloys, Zn, and Zn alloys is formed on one side of a stainless steel sheet for sheathing to 0.1-70mu thickness. Further, as the stainless steel sheet, soft stainless steel sheets of <=220 Vickers hardness are preferred, and it is preferable to use Zn-Ni alloy, Zn-Fe alloy, and Zn-Mn alloy as the Zn alloys. By this method, superior workability can be provided to the stainless steel sheet and weatherability at uncoated surface can be improved.
