Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a Zn alloy plated product having not only superior general corrosion resistance and workability but also superior corrosion resistance after coating by forming a plating layer of a Zn-Al alloy having a regulated Al content on a base metal to a prescribed thickness or above. CONSTITUTION:A plating layer of a Zn-Al alloy contg. 7-22.5wt.% Al is formed on a base metal such as a steel sheet to >=1g/m<2> thickness to obtain a Zn-Al alloy plated product. When the plated product is obtd., plating by vacuum deposition is preferably carried out. Zn and Al are separately evaporated by heating at <=10<-2>Torr degree of vacuum and Zn-Al alloy plating is carried out on the base metal. Thus, uniform Zn-Al alloy plating giving an arbitrary ratio between the constituents is relatively easily enabled and the resulting Zn-Al alloy plated product has superior corrosion resistance even after coating.
