Abstract

PURPOSE: To diagnose abnormality by comparing a change in state when the supply of driving energy to a rotary machine such as the turbine of a power plant with normal velocity damping characteristics preset under the same conditions.
CONSTITUTION: High-temperature and high-pressure vapor turning generator G, coupled coaxially with turbine T, at rotational frequency (n0) is cut off by control valve 3 and at the same time, system load 1 is disconnected by switch 2. As a result, revolution speed (n) of the turbine increases temporarily and then starts decreasing. The state at this time is inputted via sensor 4 to abnormality diagnostic unit 5, where a check is made. Input processor 6 and time measurement unit 7 are connected to unit 8 stored with normal velocity damping characteristics, etc., and abnormality is displayed 10 under the control of decision controller 9. Time (t1-t2) from (t1) for the 1st normal revolution speed (n1) to (t2) for the 2nd normal rotational frequency (n2) is compared with damping characteristics of a normal measurement value, and the abnormality can be found judging from the difference in value.
