Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the performamce of the hermetic electric insulator device by absorbing the stress caused by the heat shrinkage with use of the metal bellows. CONSTITUTION:The extreme low-temperature apparatus has many areas where the electric and hermetic insulation for lead wire 1 which supplies the power. The hermetic insulator device consists of circular upper and lower metal 12 and 9, alumina ceramic insulator material 8 which is covered with metal 12 and 9 into a stem form and is soldered with silver, connecting material 14, and device main body 80 which is composed of metal bellows 13 and attached between material 8 and 14. The insulator device is then attached to the outer tank of the extreme low-temperature apparatus. In such constitution, the stress caused by the heat shrinkage of metal fittings 12 and 9 plus material 8 functions in the direction where 12 and 9 tightens 8, so no exfoliation is caused. As a result, the hermetic insulation is ensured under the high vacuum state and the high atmosphric pressure state. The same effect is ensured at other connecting parts through the same structure.
