Abstract

PURPOSE: Raw bown coal is mixed with a specific solvent mix and dehydrated by heating in the slurry state and the resulting steam is used to preheat the slurry, thereby conducting thermoeconomically advantageous dehydration and high-efficiency liquefaction reaction.
CONSTITUTION: Raw brwon coal is mixed with a low-boiling solvent suitable for making slurry and another high-boiling solvent suitable for liquefying coal and crashed with ball mill 1 and made into slurry in slurry tank 2. The slurry is pressurized with pump 3 and introduced into heat exchanger 4 for preheating. Then the slurry is heated by passing through heating furnace 5 at a prescribed linear speed and introduced into gas-liquid separator 6 to separate into steam and dehydrated slurry. The separated steam is raised in pressure by pressurizing means 7 until condensation and then introduced into heat exchanger 4 to exchnge heat with slurry.
