Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease remarkably the consumption of steam used for regeneration of an absorbing soln., by compressing a mixed gas of steam with an acidic gas discharged from the regenerating process for acidic-gas-absorbing soln., and by utilizing the compression heat as a heat source for regenerating the absorbing slon. described above.
CONSTITUTION: Acidic-gas-abosrbing soln. such as triethanolamine soln., which has been used in refining process for mixed gas generated in chemical industry, is led through a conduit pipe 9 to a regeneration tower 1, where it is heated with a heat source in a reboiler 3 to form a mixt. of an acidic gas with steam. The mixt., which is drawn off through a pipe 11, is compressed by a compressor 2, so that the temp. of the mixt. is raised. The gas mixt. is delivered through a conduit pipe 13 to the reboiler 3 described above, where it liberates heat required for heating the acidic- gas-absorbing soln. If necessary, a reboiler 4 may be attached separately to the tower in order to produce heat. The mixted gas, from which heat is recovered in the reboiler 3, is led to a condenser 5, where steam is condensed and the residual acidic gas is effectively used, consequently the load for the condenser 5 is also decreased.
