Abstract

PURPOSE: In the treatment of coal where a solvent is mixed with coal and reacted under high temperature and pressure and heavy oil is fractionated, heated crude tar is flashed into the distillation column under fractionation operation to produce inexpensively the supplmenting solvent and increase the yield of binders, thus giving inexpensively binders for blast furnace coke.
CONSTITUTION: Coal 2 is crushed in pretreating equipment 1 and mixed with solvent 3 to form a slurry in mixer 4. The slurry is then sent under pressure with pump 6 to heating furnace 5. The heated and pressurized slurry in the furnace is reacted in extraction column 7 for prescribed time to extract the organic components in coal and the residue is sent to soled-liquid separator 8 and rmoved as residue 9. The extract is sent to distillation column 11 and subjected to equilibrium distillation into heavy oil, medium oil, light oil, gases and water. During the distillation, crude tar 13 heated in furnace 12 to 350-400°C is flashed into the distillation column for supplying the solvent.
