Abstract

PURPOSE: To liquefy coal economically, without using a hydrogen manufacturing plant or a hydrogen recovering plant, by heating the coal at a specific temperature, and reacting with coke oven gas as hydrogen source under high pressure.
CONSTITUTION: A slurry of coal S in a heavy oil O2 is mixed and degassed in a mixer 1, and pressed into a reactor 3 with a compression pump. Coal gas (KG) generated from a coke oven 2 is also supplied to the reactor 3, and made to react with the coal mixture. After the liquefaction reaction, the reaction products are separated into a gaseous component and a liquid component by a high pressure separator 4. The gaseous component is sent to a gas refiner 6 to obtain the refined fuel gas G. The liquid component is separated into the light oil O1, the heavy oil O2, and the residual char Z with a distillation column, and a part of the heavy oil O2 is recycled to the mixer 1 to slurrify the coal.
