Abstract
PURPOSE: To effect the fluid thermal decomposition of a municipal waste of high water content with good workability, operating efficiency and economically advantageously, by feeding pulverized chars to a bottom of a thermal decomposition furnace, and by the combustion in the zone with a high oxygen concentration.
CONSTITUTION: The municipal waste 17 is fed to a fluidized bed with the screw 16, and air is supplied through the pipe 9. Chars produced in the fluidized bed in the thermal decomposition furnace are discharged form the overflow pipe 4 with fluidizing sands. The recovered chars 8 are pulverized and introduced from the hopper 13 through the air flow transporting pipe 11 into the bottom of the fluidized bed 2 and burned in the zone with a high oxygen concentration. Decomposed gases made to pass through the pipe 27 are brought into contact with water in the oil recovery device 20 to be cooled, and oil components are liquefied and recovered. Uncondensed gases made to pass through the pipe 28, and the mist in the oil is recovered with the mist separator 24 and burned in the afterburner 26. The water content in the dust 17 to be charged into the thermal decomposition furnace 3 directly is adjusted to about 20wt% or less.
