Abstract
PURPOSE: To carry out gasification of powdered coal efficiently, by feeding powdered coal together with oxygen and steam to a reaction chamber to form char, combusting the char with oxygen and steam to produce a jet flow in the reaction chamber, maintaining the chamber at high temperature and high pressure.
CONSTITUTION: A gasification furnace capable of maintaining high pressure consists of the reaction chamber 1 having a funnel-shaped lower part and the combustion chamber 2 communicated to the lower part. Powdered coal together with oxygen and steam is fed from the nozzle 3 for feeding a raw material 1 is introduced to the combustion chamber 2, and burned with oxygen and steam from the nozzle 4 for feeding fuel, to produce a jet flow in the reaction chamber 1, and fed powdered coal is gasified continuously while high temperature and high pressure are being maintained, to evolve a gas.
