Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the reflection factor of the back electrode and thus to enhance the display quality by having the multi-step lamination of the thin films of aluminum and aluminum oxide alternately with every several tens of Å under the back electrode of aluminum for the EL display element.
CONSTITUTION: Aluminum thin film 11a of 60 Å and thin film 11b of mixture of aluminum and alumina featuring 30 Å thick are laminated alternately every two layers each onto tansparent lamination part 5b composed of alumina, thus forming thin film lamination part 11 featuring the light absorbing property. Then aluminum is evaporated 1000W10000 Å on part 11 at more than 150°C temperature, and then the photo etching is given based on the fixed shape in order to form the back electrode.
