Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable light of each core of a distribution coupling type optical fiber coupler to be independently fetched out to the other single core optical fiber by bundling focusing type cylindrical lenses of 1/2 pitch in alignment to the array of the cores of the photo coupler. CONSTITUTION:For a distribution coupling type optical fiber coupler 2 having multicores 1, 1', focusing type cylindrical lens 3, 3' of 1/2 pitch are arrayed in correspondence to the foregoing respective cores 1, 1' and the axial side face thereof are shaped, ground and bonded. End faces on one side of the foregoing respective cylindrical lenses 3, 3' and the end faces of the respective cores 1, 1' of the foregoing coupler 2 are bonded in the respectively opposing positions. Optical fibers 4, 4' for fetching of single cores are bonded to the end faces on the other. As a result, the light incident perpendicularly to the end faces of the focusing type cylindrical lenses 3, 3' of 1/2 pitch is emitted in the symmetrical positions of the lenses at the other end faces, and this becomes possible to fetch the photo coupled waves of the respective cores 1, 1' independently.
