Abstract

PURPOSE: To control exhaust system secondary air by means of operating signals of a detector by arranging the detector which detects the pressure difference between a low load intake passage and a high load intake passage and a high load intake passage.
CONSTITUTION: The negative pressure Pα on the downstream side of a low load carburetor throttle valve 14 in a low load intake passage 10 and the negative pressure Pγ on the downstream side of a high load carburetor throttle valve 16 in a high load intake passage 11 are introduced into the low load and the high load negative pressure chambers 27b and 27c of a diaphragm apparatus 27 through low and high load negative pressure introducing passages 25 and 26 respectively. A diaphragm detector 27 detects the pressure differences Pα and Pγ and allows a secondary air control valve 23 to operate. When the pressure difference between Pα and ργ is smaller than the prescribed value, the valve 23 is closed, and when the differential pressure is larger than the prescribed value, the valve 23 is opened.
