Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve effectively control of an exhaust reflux controlling valve for an internal combustion engine by controlling said valve with an oxigen detector in an exhaust system and a concentration detector of reflux component provided in a reflux path.
CONSTITUTION: Intake and exhaust paths 5, 6 of an engine 1 are in communication to each other through an exhaust reflux path 9 provided with a reflux controlling valve 8. Negative pressure is applied to a negative pressure chamber of the controlling valve 8 through a negative pressure pipe 11 and constant pressure valve 12 while air is introduced into the negative pressure chamber by an electromagnetic valve 13 to adjust the negative pressure. Also, a concentration detector 17 of reflux component is arranged in the reflux path 9 to which an atmosphere introducing pipe 10 provided with a throttle 18 is opened. Signals of the detector 17 together with signals of an air flow meter 3, rotational frequency sensor 19 and oxygen detector 20 in the exhaust path 6 are applied to the input of a control circuit 15 which opens and closes the electromagnetic valve 13.
