Abstract
PURPOSE: To economically carry out the title recovery with simple facilities by recovering exhaust gas from a process for blowing high Cr steel with Ar-O2 while isolating the gas from the external atmosphere; covering CO in the gas into CO2 with O2 gas; and adsorption-separating the CO2 by a vacuum adsorption method.
CONSTITUTION: Molten high Cr steel (pig iron) 2 charged in blowing furnace 1 is blown with mixed gas 4 of Ar and O2 from tuyere 3. During the blowing hot exhaust gas 5 is generated consisting of Ar; about 20W99% and CO; about 80W1%. Gas 5 is recovered through sealed hood 6, and the CO in gas 5 is converted into CO2 by being burned with O2 gas supplied through pipe 7. The exhaust gas is passed through cooling duct 9 and cooler 10, drawn with I.D fan 11, and recovered in gas holder 13 through dust collector 12. The recovered exhaust gas is compressed to 5W10 atm with compressor 14 and supplied to PSA method adsorber 15, where the CO2 gas is adsorption-removed in adsorption tower 16a or 16b. The resulting Ar gas is stored in gas holder 20.
