Abstract
PURPOSE: To attain a reduction of blast furnace cooling period by a method wherein, in case of blowing out a blast furnace, steam is blown into a furnace from a tuyere or a slag hole after a temperature of coke replaced with a furnace filling material is lowered to a specific temperature and cooling is forcedly carried out while the furnace pressure is restricted within a limited.
CONSTITUTION: When a blast furnace is blown out, steam 10 is blown into at pressure of 1.5W2kg/cm2 from a tuyere or a slag hole after a temperature of coke replaced with a furnace filling material is lowered to below 500°C. In this case, steam pressure is maintained at 5W10mm H2O higher than an atomospheric pressure by utilizing a pressure equalizing chamber provided in a furnace top 3 for operating a blast furnace at high pressure, a filling apparatus (not designated in a figure) and a septum valve 6 and, while this condition is maintained, forced cooling carried out. Moreover, blowing steam 10 is advanced along an arrow direction from a furnace top 3 and exhausted from a branched pipe 8 through a dust catcher 4, a scrubber 5 and a septum valve 6.
