Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a high-purity CO gas by recovering gas generated when blowing pure oxygen into an oven into which pellets composed of a fine coke powder, iron ore powder, mill scale, lime stone, etc. are charged with molten pig iron. CONSTITUTION:Pellets obtained by mixing fine powder, iron ore powder, mill scale, lime stone, etc., are continuously supplied through a supplier 2 into an enclosed oven 1 in which molten pig iron 5 is charged in advance, and at the same time, pure oxygen is supplied from an oxygen blowing lance 3 to burn fine coke powder and also to cause carbon present in the molten pig iron to react with oxygen for decarburization as well as to melt the pellets to make them molten pig iron. And, high-temperature CO gas generated by decarburization is cooled by a heat recovery device 7, dedusted by a dust collector 8, and then stored in a gas holder 11.
