Abstract
PURPOSE: A porous structure capable of showing good dehumidifying effect and regenerable simply and efficiently with certainty, manufactured by coating the network lattice surface of a three-dimensional network porous article having internal communicating cells with a hygroscopic agent.
CONSTITUTION: The whole surface of the network lattice 2 a of the porous three- dimensional network article 2, which is formed in the shape of a rectangular parallelepid or cylinder depending on the purpose or installation site, is uniformly coated with a hygroscopic agent, e.g. zeolite, active alumina, or silica gel, to give the porous structure 1 comprising the hygroscopic layer 3. The porous article 2 is formed from a polyurethane or ceramic foam, wherein cell walls are removed by alkali or heat treatment, and the internal communicating spaces 4 act as fluid channels. The diameter of the spaces 4 is usually 0.01W1.2 mm to bring the fluid into contact with the lattice 2a effectively and not to increase the pressure loss.
