Abstract
PURPOSE: To contrive to improve the moisture exchange efficiency and to reduce the gas shift rate by a method wherein porous member, which is treated weakly hydrophobically in advance with sizing agent, is impregnated with moisture absorbent and hydrophilic high polymer.
CONSTITUTION: The porous member serves as a partition plate 1 in the full heat exchange element. The porous member is treated at first with sizing agent so as to have weak hydrophobic property. After that, the member is dipped in the solution containing the moisture absorbent and hydrophilic high polymer and then picked up from the solution at the state the solution does not entirely pass into the interior of the porous member and dried, resulting in obtaining a moisture permeable and gas impermeable substance consisting of the porous member, the surface layer of which is formed with a dense hydroscopic thin film made of hydrophilic high polymer containing the moisture absorbent. In such a manner as mentioned above, the improvement of the moisture exchange efficiency and the reduction of the gas shift rate are contrived by using the moisture permeable and gas impermeable substance with the dense and hygroscopic thin layer on the surface layer of the porous member as the partition plate.
