Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A carbostyryl derivative of formula I (R is H, lower alkyl, lower alkanoyl; X is halogen; n is 1W3; the C-C bond between the 3- and the 4-positions of the carbostyryl skeleton is single or double bond.).
EXAMPLE: 8-Bromo-5-hydroxy-3,4-dihydrocarbostyryl.
USE: Intermediate of blood platelet coagulation inhibiting agent, antiphlogistic agent, phosphodiesterase inhibiting agent, anti-ulcer agent, anti-histaminic agent, central nervous system depressing agent, etc.
PROCESS: The compound I is prepared by reacting a compound II with a halogenation agent pref. F, Cl, Br, I, etc., in a solvent such as water, methanol, etc., at -20 - +100°C, pref. 0°C - room temperature.
