Abstract

PURPOSE:To maintain the pressure feed part and recovery part constituting the ink circulating device always in stable and good condition by performing discharging and suction from a catcher with one pump and setting a solenoid valve in the recovery system thereof. CONSTITUTION:When the ink in a catcher 15 decreases and a detector 16a goes OFF, a solenoid valve 9 closes. Hence, the suction force of a pump 7 rises to open a pressure valve 5, causing the ink in a cartridge 3 to be sucked into the pump and to be pressure discharged from the discharge side. This ink is supplied to a nozzle 14 and is injected therefrom. The excess ink not used for recording is catched by the chatcher 15. As the operation time elapses, the ink in the catcher 15 increases. When the level detector 16a goes ON, the solenoid valve 9 opens and in succession, the pressure valve 5 closes to cause the ink 4 to be sucked from the catcher 15 into the pump 7. Because of this, the level in the catcher 15 lowers and the detector 16a goes OFF. Further when 16b goes ON, the solenoid valve 9 closes and the previous state is restored. In this way, stable printing is accomplished.
