At the time of operation, owing to contraction of a piezoelectric element 25 and displacement of a vibrating plate 24, the pressure of liquid rises and ink in the ink pool inside the slits 31 in front of the orifices 19 is jetted. When the vibrating plate is restored, sucking action in the reverse direction is generated in ink and ink is supplied from the ink pool and an ink supply groove 38 for standing by. Since the slits and the ink supply groove are sufficiently large in comparison with the orifices and retain a lot of ink, the influence due to sticking of dust sucked along with air is prevented and supply of ink is also conducted quickly.
